William Henry Chappell of Lansing, Michigan departed this life on April 27, 2018,  he was preceded in death by his parents the late; Willie Lee & Fairy Chappell,  daughter the late; Loleta Marie Townsend, siblings the late;  Edward Willie Chappell,  Albert Lee Chappell, John Allen Chappell and Wendal Wilkey Chappell. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children;  Clarence Henry Chappell, Glenn Alan (Karen) Chappell, Michael Anthony (Tamika) Chappell, Lionel Townsend and LaMonica Townsend,  his siblings;  Charles Edward Chappell, Willie Richard Chappell, Ross Earl Chappell, Lorenzo Chappell, Gloria Dean Chappell, Fairy Lee Chappell, his grandchildren; Caleb Alan Chappell, Michael Anthony Chappell II,  Christian Quinton Chappell, Dequan Townsend, Stephen Jackson, Tiara Townsend, LaTondrea Townsend, Shatoya Rosario, Lionel Townsend Jr., and Araijah Snaden.   Also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Mr. Chappell retired from General Motors after 34 years of dedicated services, he also retired from Michigan State University after 32 years of dedicated services.

Mr. Chappell will lie in repose on Friday, May 4,  2018 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road., Pontiac, Michigan.  From 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Mr. Chappell's celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Zion Refuge Church 97 Mariva., Pontiac, Michigan.  The family will meet with friends at 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service.  On Monday  May 7, 2018  Mr. Chappell will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery 4444 W. Grand River,  Lansing,  Michigan, at 12 p.m
