William Phillip Douglas, known as "Doug" or The Glass" was born on March 10, 1962 to William and Pecola Douglas in Pontiac, Michigan.  He transitioned from this earthly life on July 30, 2020. His grandparents,  Daniel, Sr. & Bertha Glover, uncles, Bill and Leroy Glover and sister, Tanza Singleton all preceded him in death.

William accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac, Michigan.  Educated in the Pontiac School District, he was a graduate of Pontiac Central High School, after graduation he attended Oakland Community College, earning an Associates Degree.

William was employed in the hospitality industry, a lover of all music, he especially enjoyed jazz and Parliament Funkadelic the most.  He enjoyed a good steak and loved Kentucky Fried Chicken.  He was a big sports fan, always rooting for the Detroit Lions and Michigan Wolverines.  He also loved tennis and basketball.

William leaves to cherish his memory; his parents, William and Pecola Douglas, his siblings; Lorenzo Douglas, Jeffrey Douglas, Newton (Tayonna) Douglas, Nashun (William) Douglas-Wilkerson, his special cousins; Wesley Glover, James Hill and Larry Hannah, Jr., his honorary sisters; Kimberly Mills, and Michelle Smith and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other loving relatives and close friends who adored him.

Mr. Douglas will lie in repose on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.   Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Cobb's Funeral Home, family hour will start at 10 a.m.   Internment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan.

As a global concern about Coronavirus (COVID-19) begins to have a impact on our community, we are taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of the families we serve and the community in general.  Some families are making the decision to postpone services while others have opted to move forward with a small gathering of close family and friends.

It is Cobb's Funeral Home policy, which lines up with the restrictions of our governor, Gretchen Whitmer, that all gatherings are limited to 20 people with a distance of 6 feet.
